With this strategic orientation, NTS emphasises that technological advances for efficient climate protection and resource conservation are in harmony with corporate goals. This is a matter of course for NTS and determines the orientation of our company and actions for our employees, customers and business partners.

Another green milestone: The logistics centre in Mainhausen

The construction of the new logistics centre in Mainhausen combines all aspects of modern & sustainable building technology. We rely on self-sufficient energy generation by means of a solar system and heat pump and produce the energy required and consumed in the logistics centre directly on site. Continuously embedded in holistic concepts and planned for the future. In order to manage our high demands on the energy efficiency and ecology of the building system, we rely on various coordinated instruments. The solar system currently produces up to 300 kilowatt hours (a 50% expansion is technically feasible), of which up to 60 kilowatts can be stored in the building's own buffer tank. A decisive point for climate efficiency is the handling of heating and air conditioning. Here, the sophisticated combination of a reversible air-water heat pump with a gas condensing boiler is used in our logistics centre to support the heat pump at peak times.
In addition, intelligent technologies and clever solutions must be used to reduce energy consumption during the operating phase. Building measures such as skylight domes for natural light incidence were taken into account as well as the comprehensive use of lighting with LED technology and motion sensors. A sustainable way has also been found for watering the green spaces by means of deep wells. We also support and promote the green mobility of our employees. The new charging stations for cars and e-bikes are very popular and offer fast, convenient charging with green electricity at the Mainhausen logistics centre.
